Executive summary
The UK Home Office needed to upgrade its complex immigration and border processes in the wake of significant policy shifts like Brexit. Veracity delivered end-to-end financial solutions, supported programme governance and infrastructure, and executed the funding strategy to gain funding to deliver the transformation programme. The deliverables resulted in successful roll-outs of visa and border solutions and improving service speed and customer experience.
Introduction
Faced with new policy requirements and surging demand post-Brexit, the Department was required to modernise its approach. When standing up a programme, one of the priorities would be to get funding. This prompted a search for an expert partner who could not only craft high-impact business cases, but also help shape the case for change, develop options and agree the scope.
The Challenge
Prior to engaging Veracity, the Home Office had less experience compared to other Departments in drafting business cases and getting funding for large programmes. There was no established financial strategy or experience in presenting the best business case to obtain funding for such a large-scale programme.
The Solution
Veracity took a strategic, hands-on approach, supporting the SROs and working with various teams to understand the challenges and therefore build a case for change. We also helped shape the direction and scope of the programme by building valid options within the business case and key outcomes for the preferred option.
