Veracity Consulting partnered with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) and Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust (RBHFT) to deliver a complex digital transformation. The project successfully migrated over 33,000 users and 200TB of data to a single, unified NHSmail platform.
Following the merger of GSTT and RBHFT in 2021, the newly formed Trust faced a critical challenge: its 35,000 staff were operating across two separate, legacy email systems. This division created significant operational and strategic issues:
- Regulatory & Cybersecurity Risk: The on-premise platforms were not fully compliant with the DCB1596 standard, posing a high-priority cybersecurity risk.
- Limited Collaboration: Staff could not easily find contact details for colleagues across the merged organisation, hindering communication and teamwork.
- Operational Inefficiency: Maintaining two email systems incurred substantial costs and diverted technical resources from other strategic objectives.
The Trust required a unified email solution to ensure regulatory compliance, support collaboration, and reduce infrastructure costs. Veracity Consulting was appointed as a Managed Service Partner to define a clear resolution pathway. We engaged with stakeholders, drafted detailed requirements, and supported the tender process, which identified Accenture as the technical delivery partner. Veracity focused on the people and project management, working with internal GSTT teams as a single, collaborative unit.
