About the Opportunity
I am currently partnering with a leading manufacturing organisation in Galway that is seeking an experienced Projects & Sustainability Manager to join its team. This is a high-impact role that combines project management, sustainability leadership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will lead key business projects while driving environmental initiatives and supporting long-term sustainability goals across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programmes across the business.
Identify opportunities to reduce environmental impact and improve operational efficiency.
Manage projects from concept through to implementation across multiple functions.
Oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Technical, and Health & Safety teams.
Monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and environmental awareness.
Deliver training and guidance on sustainability best practices.
Support compliance with environmental standards, legislation, and certification requirements.
Drive waste reduction, process optimisation, and productivity improvements.
Essential Requirements
Experience managing projects within a manufacturing environment.
Strong project planning, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Proven track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Experience
Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Sustainability, Business Management, or a related discipline.
Experience leading sustainability, ESG, or environmental programmes.
CAPEX project management experience.
Knowledge of ERP systems and AutoCAD.
Experience managing supplier and contractor relationships.
