Role Overview
This role is responsible for optimizing cash flow, mitigating credit risk, and managing the prompt collection of outstanding accounts while fostering positive relationships with internal teams and external clients.
*This is an 18 month contract
Key Responsibilities
- Drive timely collections on outstanding balances and invoices to maximize cash flow.
- Prepare weekly aged debt reports alongside monthly and quarterly summaries for executive leadership.
- Continuously monitor accounts to flag potential credit risks, resolve account discrepancies, and streamline payment workflows. Partner with internal departments and third-party stakeholders (such as legal counsel, financial auditors, banking contacts, and credit insurers) as needed.
- Support the Credit Lead in maintaining sound financial governance, managing credit risk, and adhering to internal policy standards.
- Assist in refining operational workflows, updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and proactively managing daily payment exceptions or failed transactions. Coordinate with sales leadership to ensure seamless onboarding and credit evaluation for new client accounts.
- Deliver high-quality customer service while balancing firm credit policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven track record in credit control, accounts receivable (AR), or a related corporate finance environment.
- Membership in a recognized credit management or financial professional body is preferred. Strong hands-on experience with modern ERP systems, business banking tools, and credit assessment platforms.
- Advanced capability in MS Excel paired with sharp numerical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate, make sound risk decisions, and manage relationships effectively. High degree of professional integrity, attention to detail, and a structured approach to risk management.
