Role Details
- Role: Band 7 or 8a Clinical Pharmacist
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Pay: Band 7 £31.15ph gross | Band 8a £35ph gross
- Start: ASAP
- Length: 3 months
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join a busy NHS hospital pharmacy team in South East London, with positions available at both Band 7 and Band 8a level. At Band 7, you will provide a high-quality clinical pharmacy service across a range of wards and departments, with responsibilities including medicines reconciliation, clinical screening of prescriptions, ward-based pharmacy services, and participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings. At Band 8a level, you will take on a senior leadership role, providing expert clinical input across complex specialities, leading on medicines optimisation initiatives, supporting and mentoring junior pharmacy staff, and contributing to the development of medicines-related policies and guidelines.
Requirements
- Current GPhC registration
- Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience
- Demonstrable experience in clinical pharmacy, including ward-based work
- Band 8a applicants should have prior experience at Band 7 or above, with a proven track record in senior clinical pharmacy practice
- Strong knowledge of medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and medicines optimisation
- Experience contributing to or leading MDT working
- Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
