We are seeking an experienced Data Officer to join a Dublin-based organisation on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a data protection professional to play a key role in supporting GDPR compliance, information governance, and data risk management across the organisation.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide practical guidance on data protection matters, support compliance initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing development of a strong data governance framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders to provide guidance and constructive challenge on projects and new initiatives to manage data risks and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a delegate for the Data Protection Officer (DPO) when required.
- Advise on Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Support data incident and breach management activities.
- Manage data subject rights requests.
- Support file management and administrative activities.
- Maintain and update the Record of Processing Activities (ROPA).
- Manage the Data Protection mailbox and respond to day-to-day queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of data protection policies and procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a data protection, privacy, or information governance role.
- Relevant data protection qualification.
- Strong working knowledge of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical business advice.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience identifying, assessing, and advising on data protection and information governance risks.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem solving and delivering outcomes.
