Sales Manager
Our client, a leading global provider of water and environmental solutions based in Claregalway, Co. Galway, is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Sales Manager to join their growing team.
As Sales Manager, you will lead a small, high-performing sales team within a growing water softener and filtration business.
You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, overseeing day-to-day sales activity, and ensuring both individual and team sales targets are achieved.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, this is hands-on leadership role, where you will not only manage and motivate your team but also engage directly with customers to close sales and build long-term relationships.
The focus will be on residential customers, helping them find the right solutions for their water treatment needs with responsibilities to include the following:
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and manage a sales team, setting clear performance expectations and supporting them to achieve individual and team sales targets
Provide coaching, mentoring, and regular performance reviews
to ensure ongoing development of sales skills and product knowledge
Conduct regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of new sales team members to ensure high performance from the outset
Sales Strategy and Execution
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue targets, focusing on residential customers in the water softener and filtration market.
Create and implement sales plans, including identifying key target markets, prospecting strategies, and customer acquisition tactics
Collaborate with the Marketing Team to align Sales strategies with marketing initiatives, ensuring a consistent approach to lead generation and customer outreach
Ensure the team follows a structured sales process, and maintains high levels of professionalism and customer engagement
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing residential customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty
Identify customer needs, provide expert advice on full portfolio of products, and deliver tailored proposals that address specific pain points
Support the team in navigating difficult sales scenarios, ensuring customer concerns are resolved and relationships are preserved
Actively manage high-value or complex customer accounts, including follow-ups and addressing any post-sales issues to ensure customer retention
Sales Performance and Reporting
Monitor and track individual and team sales performance against targets and KPIs, ensuring the team stay on track to meet or exceed expectations
Prepare and deliver regular sales reports for the Sales Director, including progress toward goals, pipeline status, and market trends
Use data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any gaps in sales performance or customer acquisition
Sales Process Improvement
Continuously assess and refine the sales process, tools, and techniques to improve efficiency conversion rates, and customer experience
Implement best practices for lead generation, sales calls, product presentations, and closing techniques
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activity, and
new product offerings to ensure the team is well-equipped to sell the latest solutions
Collaboration and Cross-Departmental Support
Work closely with the Customer Service team to ensure smooth transitions from sales to post-sales support, ensuring the customer experience is seamless
Collaborate with the Operations teams to ensure the accurate communication of product capabilities, product availability, stock levels, and seasonal demand fluctuations are managed effectively
Market Expansion and Product Knowledge
Stay abreast of market trends and emerging customer needs in the water filtration and softener industry, helping the company expand its reach and offerings
Conduct regular product training sessions to ensure the sales team remains up to date on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages
Explore opportunities for expanding into new residential markets or niches, including identifying potential partnerships or collaborations
Skills & Experience that we need
Proven experience in a sales leadership role, preferably within a technical or product-based business (e.g., home appliances, water treatment)
Strong background in selling to residential customers, with a deep understanding of the sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals
Leadership and team management skills, with experience in motivating, developing, and coaching a small sales team
Strong sales acumen with the ability to close deals, build customer relationships, and meet sales targets
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present products clearly and persuasively to residential customers
Proficient with CRM software and sales tracking tools (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho, or similar)
Analytical mindset with the ability to assess sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to inform strategy
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
A customer-first approach, with a strong commitment to delivering value and building long-term relationships.
The Offer
This is a permanent hybrid position offering a competitive salary of €60K–€70K per annum, plus benefits package reflecting the complexities and responsibilities of the role and dependent on the successful candidate’s experience.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm. The role offers a hybrid working arrangement of three days onsite and two days working from home, depending on business needs.
Applicants must have unrestricted permission to work in Ireland, be available to interview in person, and live within a commutable distance of the client’s office in Claregalway, Co. Galway.
