The Role
Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Lead Speech and Language Therapist (SEMH & Communication) to lead the delivery of speech and language therapy services for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity to develop and lead a specialist Speech and Language Therapy service within a supportive educational setting. You will provide expert assessment and intervention for pupils with SEMH needs and associated communication difficulties, while working closely with education staff, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team to promote positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Speech and Language Therapy service across the academy
- Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with SEMH and communication needs
- Complete comprehensive speech, language, communication, and social communication assessments
- Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to therapy staff where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with teachers, psychologists, Occupational Therapists, families, and external agencies
- Contribute to EHCP assessments, annual reviews, and multidisciplinary reports
- Deliver training and communication strategies to school staff and parents/carers
- Promote evidence-based practice, service development, and high standards of clinical governance
Requirements
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Significant experience working within paediatric Speech and Language Therapy services
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH and complex communication needs
- Previous leadership, senior clinician, or supervisory experience
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills
- Passion for improving outcomes for children within specialist education
