Role Details
- Role: Band 8a Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Pay: £35ph
- Start: ASAP
- Length: 3 months
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Oncology/Haematology Pharmacist to join a specialist cancer services team in West London. At Band 8a level, you will provide expert clinical pharmacy input across oncology and haematology services, leading on the safe and effective delivery of cancer treatments. Duties will include chemotherapy screening and verification, providing clinical pharmacy support to oncology and haematology patients, contributing to the development and review of chemotherapy protocols, leading on medicines optimisation within the speciality, supporting and mentoring junior pharmacy staff, and working collaboratively within the oncology and haematology multidisciplinary team.
Requirements
- Current GPhC registration
- Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience within an oncology or haematology setting
- Proven experience in chemotherapy screening and oncology/haematology pharmacy practice
- Strong knowledge of cancer treatment protocols, cytotoxic medicines management, and BOPA guidelines
- Experience in a senior or lead pharmacy role within oncology or haematology services
- Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and support junior pharmacy staff
- Excellent clinical decision-making and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex clinical workload
