Role Details
- Role: Band 5 Cancer Services Pharmacy Technician
- Days: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 9am to 5pm
- Pay: £21ph
- Start: ASAP
- Length: 3 months
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cancer Services Pharmacy Technician to join a specialist oncology and haematology pharmacy team in Hertfordshire. You will be working within a licensed aseptic unit, supporting the provision of high-quality and cost-effective pharmaceutical care to haematology and oncology patients. Duties will include the preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy and other aseptic products within a clean room environment, working in accordance with GMP principles and Pharmaceutical Quality Systems, and supporting pharmaceutical audit and validation activities. You will also utilise chemotherapy prescribing systems and contribute to the overall quality and efficiency of the cancer services pharmacy function.
Requirements
- Current GPhC registration
- Minimum of 6 months NHS hospital experience within an aseptic unit
- Proven experience in a cancer services or oncology pharmacy setting
- Specialist knowledge of GMP principles and QA in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Quality Systems and pharmaceutical audit and validation
- Experience using EMIS (Ascribe) pharmacy system and BD Cato, Chemo Care, or equivalent chemotherapy prescribing system
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately within a highly regulated environment
